The Great Bear Rainforest is located in British Columbia, Canada and it is home beautiful wild, unspoiled nature. The size of the Great Bear Rainforest is roughly 21 million acres and it expands between Vancouver Island and Southeast Alaska. It is one of the largest remaining tracts of unspoiled temperate rainforest left in the world.
The Coastal Mountain range has isolated many wildlife populations from their conspecifics in the rest of North America. As a result the Great Bear Rainforest is home to many subspecies and genetically unique populations like the Spirit Bear - black bear, in which one in ten cubs displays a recessive white coloured coat. This wild part of Canada is also home of the coastal grey wolves, salmon, grizzly bears, killer whales, eagles and many more.
To visit this unique wildlife is not easy because it is accessible only by boat or sea plane.
