Influential country music trio Rascal Flatts is getting the band back together. After a five-year hiatus, the group has announced their “Life is a Highway Tour.” With dates scheduled across the United States in 2025, the iconic country band views the tour as an opportunity to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their founding.
The group also views the tour as an opportunity to thank fans who’ve supported their music through the years. According to Live Nation Entertainment, the enduring popularity of Rascal Flatts has made them one of modern country music’s most awarded acts.

Reconnecting With Fans

There was a time when Rascal Flatts’ members thought a reunion would never be possible. In 2020, the band prepared for a 20th anniversary tour, but plans had to be scrapped due to the pandemic. Then in 2021, the group temporarily parted ways.

Frontman Gary LeVox talked candidly with People Magazine after the band’s breakup, saying, “I can’t stand the fact that it just feels [like] there’s no closure with something that we’ve been so blessed with. That will always be in my heart.”

After some much-needed downtime, the group reconciled. Now, their 25th anniversary tour is on the calendar. In an official statement released by the group, they said, “We’re ready.”

As the group took a moment to think about why this celebratory tour has remained such an important goal for them over the last few years, they realized it was all because of the fans. In their official statement, they said, “It’s hard to believe that next year will be the 25th anniversary of Rascal Flatts, and that felt like the perfect time to get back in front of the fans who have given us so much.”

Rascal Flatts will be joined on tour by two strong supporting acts. Grand Ole Opry member and talented vocalist Lauren Alaina, and multi-platinum selling country artist Chris Lane are set to be the opening acts for the “Life is a Highway” nationwide tour.

Formed in 2000 by lead vocalist Gary LeVox along with bandmates Jay DeMarcus, a multi-instrumentalist, and Joe Don Rooney, a guitarist, Rascal Flatts went on to have 20 years of unprecedented success in the country music industry.

Since their inception, the band has won over 40 awards, including Academy of Country Music awards for Song of the Year and Group of the Year, a Country Music Association award for Vocal Group of the Year, a Gospel Music Association Dove award for Contemporary Album of the year, and People’s Choice awards for their smash hit cover of “Life is a Highway,” a song originally recorded by Tom Cochrane.

The band has produced 17 No. 1 hits over the last two decades, including chart-toppers like “Bless The Broken Road,” “My Wish,” and “Prayin’ for Daylight.” Many of their top hits are included in the tour’s set list.

The band is known for its unique brand of country music, which blends emotionally uplifting lyrics with timeless, inspiring messages focused on love, hope, and living life to the fullest.

According to the Recording Industry Association of America, Rascal Flatts is one of the best-selling country music groups of all time.

The “Life is a Highway Tour” kicks off on Feb. 13, 2025, in Evansville, Indiana at the Ford Center. Tour stops along the way include Columbus, Ohio; Savannah, Georgia; and Fort Worth, Texas. The tour concludes on April 5, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena.

Produced by Live Nation Entertainment, the tour includes 21 stops across the country. Tickets were available starting Friday, Oct. 4, 2024.
