TAOYUAN, Taiwan—Taoyuan County Councilor, Chang Huo-Lu, brought his wife and two daughters to see Shen Yun Performing Arts International Company’s show on March 13. Mr. Chang praised the animated background projection, saying, ”It was the first time I saw something like this and it really opened my eyes.”
“Normally a stage performance is just a performance on stage. Shen Yun’s stage performance and the backdrop complement each other. The animation on the backdrop matches the dancing movements and enhances the quality,” Mr. Chang said.
“I truly welcome this kind of performance. We rarely see classical Chinese dance like this. My ancestors came from the southern part of Fujian Province. When I saw the artists present the atmosphere and ethnic essence of southern Fujian [Min Nan Grace] using wide-brimmed leaf hats, I felt very close to them.”
“I liked every program, especially the dances with drama, like The Monkey King Outwits Pigsy. I also liked Little Mischievous Monks. Their cute and innocent sides were very well expressed in the dance,” Mr. Chang loved how Shen Yun depicts different characters so vividly with classical Chinese dance.
