NEW YORK—After watching the Shen Yun Performing Arts Touring Company at Radio City Hall, businessman Vincent HoSang was full of praise.
“I’m very glad that I came to see this performance. It is wonderful, and I‘ll tell my friends and I’ll come back and see it again,” he said.
Mr. HoSang is the president of Royal Caribbean Bakery and Caribbean Food Delights, a multi-million-dollar Caribbean food manufacturing and distribution organization.
Watching the show made Mr. HoSang happy to be of Chinese ethnicity.
“I feel so wonderful. I feel like I’m happy I’m Chinese,” he said. “I'd love to meet some of these performers—they’re so wonderful.”
The New York-based Shen Yun seeks to revive the 5,000 year old Chinese culture through each of it performances.
Watching the state-of-the art digital backdrops depicting breathtaking scenes also left a deep impression on Mr. HoSang.
“The technology is so great…it’s far out. I like the performers, especially the ladies, and I like the scenery, especially with water,” he added in reference to a dance piece called ‘The Dance of the Dai.’
The program book states that the “Dai ethnic dance, distinguished by its fluid arm movements and flexible fingers, epitomizes the serene beauty of these peaceful people.”
Overall, Mr. HoSang said, “It’s very wonderful and I really recommend it to my friends.”
Ms. Sabrina HoSang, the Cheif Operating Officer of Caribbean Food Delights and Royal Caribbean Bakery, also greatly enjoyed the show.
“This is my first time here, seeing the show. It’s so beautiful, so inspiring; and what they can do, they’re just so talented,” she said.
“I love it, and even the animation on the screen,” she exclaimed, in reference to Shen Yun’s digital backdrop. “It’s moving and it’s so beautiful—so beautiful.”
Shen Yun harmonizes dance together with unique costuming, a 50-member orchestra, and a visual backdrop. The performance has amazed audiences around the world in over 100 cities in five continents.
Describing her feeling while watching the show, Ms. HoSang said, “Oh my Gosh, Joy!”
“I’m learning a lot about the culture—everything is just so educating.”
Explaining that her ancestors hail from Guandgdong, China, Ms. HoSang said the show is “very inspiring” and “just beautiful to watch.”
She concluded, “It’s always good to learn about your culture.”
