YUNLIN, Taiwan—After the Shen Yun Performing Arts New York Company performed in Yunlin County for three days, its last show came to a close on the evening of April 23. It has provided an opportunity for the residents of Yunlin County to appreciate a magnificent artistic feast. The principal of the Yi-Fong High School, Mr. Yu Kuoliang, was among the enthusiastic audience who were captivated. After seeing the spectacular performance, he said happily, “Shen Yun has demonstrated the momentum of the Han Dynasty and the Tang Dynasty, which is the magnificent culture of flourishing ages.
“The Shen Yun Performing Arts showcased a high-level cultural art, which implied philosophical connotations. The performance illustrated the traditional Chinese culture, and it really moved the audience.”
As the dancers illustrated the profound divinely imparted Chinese culture with rich body language in the opening program, Mr. Yu praised Shen Yun’s superb illustration of the ancient culture, saying: “Art has long been the combination of politics, economy, and culture, since ancient times. Shen Yun has fully showcased the momentum of the Han Dynasty and the Tang Dynasty. In particular, the overall choreography, sound effect, and lighting were so extravagant as if we witnessed the magnificent culture in person.”
Admiring Shen Yun’s successful illustration of the divinely imparted traditional Chinese culture, Mr. Yu said: “The program The Emperor Ushers in a Glorious Age was overwhelming. Chinese culture is certainly a polytheistic culture. The divinely imparted culture features the respect for ancestors, heaven and earth, worshipping deities; and believing in Confucianism, Buddhism, and Daoism. The Shen Yun show fully conveyed this kind of message.”
Feeling that what Shen Yun demonstrated was something about the dimension of harmonization of heaven and humanity, Mr. Yu concluded: “I found that the spirit conveyed by the Shen Yun show was harmonization of heaven and humanity, which is a harmonious and exquisite culture. This is what education should focus on. Culture and arts are something we need to seriously work on in the long run.”
