LOS ANGELES—Shen Yun Performing Arts Spring Tour 2009 concluded its second successful show, held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on May 9. Audiences so admired Shen Yun’s theatrical performances that applause and cheering could be heard rising around the auditorium. People from various cultural and ethnic backgrounds of different ages, beliefs and status all thought very highly of Shen Yun’s unmatched spirit of pure truthfulness, pure compassion and pure beauty.

Mr. Gao, a traditional Chinese medicine doctor from mainland China, initially impressed with Shen Yun’s extraordinary performance this January, now came to watch the show again.

“It is really worth watching. It leaves a wonderful aftertaste from the perspectives of its artistic value, stage artistic design and overall performances. Hasn’t it been said that if something is really good, its effects can linger long in the air? Shen Yun indeed has such artistic charm, and that’s why I came back,” Gao said.

Gao commented, “As you may see, crowds gathering around the theater sat through the show, which proves that Shen Yun’s artistic performances for originality and magical effect are very appealing, and unparalleled.”

He continued, “More importantly, Shen Yun has promoted traditional Chinese culture expressed in the Chinese performing arts and provided a cultural exchange platform for individuals or a community with an appreciation for, and interest in traditional Chinese culture. Shen Yun has made us so proud to be Chinese. I hope Shen Yun reform the hearts of all the people by its powerful, enriching influence. Shen Yun has even greater potential that will surely promote the ancestral traditions of Chinese culture to the greater sphere of global cultural diversity and identity.”

Gao, noting the Chinese Communist Party’s suppression of Falun Gong, said that he knows that there are still many people who hold prejudice against Falun Gong and its practitioners because of the Chinese Communist Party’s far-reaching hate propaganda, but he thinks that time restores everything. Shen Yun is a good way to help people know the truth and awaken them, and its art exhibition will reach a sufficient momentum.

He said finally, “I believe, as a non-Falun Gong practitioner, that good things must be carried forward, so I will introduce Shen Yun Performing Arts to my patients and friends on appropriate occasions.”
