KAOHSIUNG, Taiwan—New York-based Shen Yun International Company staged another full-house show at Kaohsiung County Government Labor Affairs Bureau on March 16. In the audience was Lin Tiancong, director of Kaohsiung County Government Information Services.

Mr. Lin said that he watched the show last year, and it touched his heart deeply. This year, he was even more astonished.

“Chinese traditional civilization was concentrated into one performance through artistry. It displayed the rich and grand five-millennia-old culture. Every audience member was brought into a civilization of their dreams and a wonderland. It was very cleansing for the heart too.

“The Shen Yun performance combined modern technology with traditional aspects. The costumes, style, lighting, overall effect, and performing arts embraces ancient civilization, which left a deep impression on me,”he said.

The program, The Monkey King Triumphs, which depicts a scene from the 16th century novel, Journey to the West, particularly enchanted him. He said that he has read the book many times, and the program depicted a very good interpretation of the scene.

Mr. Lin said that by watching Shen Yun, people’s hearts would become tranquil. It was great for the modern people to have a glimpse of the lifestyle of ancient people.
