NEW YORK—Shen Yun Performing Arts held yet another spellbinding performance at Lincoln Center’s David H. Koch Theater on June 25. The performers received a standing ovation from the packed theater, which lasted through a curtain call.

“It’s so light ... it just moves gently,” said Christina Zvetkov, who works in the fashion industry and has a background in dance.

Based in New York, Shen Yun has set out to rekindle China’s 5,000 years of culture and bring together award-winning Chinese dancers, singers, musicians, and choreographers. Shen Yun is composed of three touring companies. The New York Company took the stage on Saturday.

“It’s just beautiful,” Mrs. Zvetkov said. “It’s pure indulgence for the eyes. I love it.”

Mrs. Zvetkov attended the performance with her husband, Milan Zvetkov, who has performed in orchestras himself. He said he enjoyed being on the other side of the orchestra pit on Saturday.

Shen Yun’s dancers are accompanied by a unique orchestra featuring both classical Western and Chinese instruments, ranging from the Chinese pipa to the French horn.

Mr. Zvetkov said the performance was “very nice,” noting it was “very different than most shows.”

Also attending the show was Marie-ange N’diaye, a French teacher originally from Normandy, France. “It’s just amazing,” she said. “It’s gorgeous.”

N’diaye, who visited China last year, said of Shen Yun, “I really appreciate being able to see it here.”

Shen Yun Performing Arts New York Company will perform at Lincoln Center’s David H. Koch Theater in New York City through June 26. For more information, visit ShenYunPerformingArts.org
