Berlin Awaits the Shen Yun Performing Arts Performances

BERLIN—A warm welcome from Nele Hertling, vice-president of the Berlin Academy of Arts, for the artists in the upcoming Shen Yun Divine Performing Arts 2009 World Tour presentations March 23–25.

She is well-known beyond Berlin as “Lady of the Theater” and as such has made it possible for many artists in her role as general manager to showcase their artistic talents.
 
Her message, “Artists have seen a fulfillment of their dreams and visions with the establishment of Shen Yun Performing Arts several years ago—to resurrect China’s heritage of classical dance and music and to make it more easily accessible to the general public around the globe.

“It is entirely possible to see the best presentations of classical Chinese dance from many traditions as an inspirational basis for ever newer choreographic endeavors.

“In conjunction with the orchestra that brings together performers of Chinese and Western instruments, the [show] manages to surprise and delight the audience. This is ever more possible because the members of the Shen Yun Performing Arts [show] intertwine the show with contemporary themes.”

She closed by saying; “The [show] manages to express with dance, the unspoken language, to breathe new life into an almost forgotten treasure in these odd times—presenting traditional Chinese culture and make it widely available. Thus, it contributes to raise people’s tolerance among many cultures around the world, in these times rife with crises. I wish their performances huge success and the admiration of the public, so they won’t forget these grand dance and music presentations for a long time.”

This evening the curtain rises for the first of three Berlin performances in beloved and well-known Friedrichstadtpalast.
