PASADENA, Calif.—An extraordinarily accomplished scientist at NASA found a joyful message in Divine Performing Arts. Dr. Basilio and his wife were invited to a VIP reception for the show on January 2. He leads a project dealing with satellites at a famous university.

He approached the performance as an enjoyable evening out, moved to buy a ticket for his wife when he saw ads. “We looked into it. It looked nice, so we went ahead and bought tickets.” Yet what he saw and heard went beyond entertainment.

“I think, overall, just the history, being able to see the 5,000 years of Chinese culture being portrayed in the music, the dance, and the songs.

“I think the way it was portrayed today can be understood by anybody and everybody. There was a message of prosperity, and hope, and joy, which I think is very important in today’s world.

“Being able to see beyond the economic crisis in the world and be able to know there is hope for the future.”

Mrs. Basilio said, “I think there was some spiritual message in it somehow. That was very nice.” She said she thought the message was “about hope, peace, and prosperity. It seemed like people have suffered throughout the years. The message was: Don’t give up.”
