The holidays are a time of joy, cheer and wish making. Young children around the world write letters to Santa Claus with special requests and gifts. It keeps the holiday spirit alive when Christmas miracles take place. For one young girl, Santa Claus delivers a personal miracle just for her.
During a holiday pep rally around Christmas, 4th grader Hannah sits with her class as a teacher randomly picks students to answer the question of, “what do you want for Christmas?”. Little Hannah only wants one thing, for her brother to come home. Her brother has served the last 8 months on a deployment to Japan.
The gym fills with excitement as Santa Claus comes into the building. While the other kids are happy to see Saint Nick, Hannah is only looking behind him. Her brother, dressed in his Marine uniform, walks quietly behind the jolly Santa and directly towards Hannah. For a brief moment, Hannah is in shock and unmoving before taking off full-speed towards her brother.
There is not a dry eye to be seen as they commence with their pep rally. During the National Anthem, Hannah can be seen standing proudly by her brother.
Christmas miracles bring the holiday meaning and brings everyone closer together. Gifts don’t have to be bought, merely the presence of an absent family member can bring more joy than any store-bought gift.
