SAN FRANCISCO—The opening show of The Divine Performing Arts (DPA) Chinese New Year Spectacular in San Francisco’s War Memorial Opera House receives warm welcome from California and Bay Area elected officials. 

Each year, many California elected officials extend their appreciation to the members of DPA and to the presenter of the show, New Tang Dynasty Television (NTDTV), for enriching the lives of their constituents through the exquisite classical Chinese dancing and music of the Divine Performing Arts Chinese New Year Spectacular.

Assembly Member Mike Davis from the 48th district recognizes the impact of DPA’s efforts to share China’s rich culture and heritage through the Chinese New Year Spectacular and states,

“I commend the Divine Performing Arts for their commitment to improving the quality of life for the community.”

The Mayor and City Council of Union City honors and recognizes DPA and NTDTV for their, “…continued efforts to promote the understanding of traditional Chinese Culture and the arts.”

The City Council of San Ramon states, “this annual event is being held to promote community unity, enhance friendships and create a greater understanding and appreciation with the primary objectives to celebrate and promote China’s magnificent cultural heritage and foster cross cultural understandings between the East and West.”

The city council also recognizes NTDTV and stated, “… to encourage people to enjoy peace and freedom and live harmoniously to work together for a better tomorrow among different races and beliefs.”

Other city councils and mayors who sent congratulatory letters to DPA include Redwood City, Hayward, Fremont, Santa Clara, Foster City, Milpitas, Cupertino and San Jose.

The DPA will perform a total of 7 shows at San Francisco’s War Memorial Opera House from Jan 7 – 11 before closing at Sunday’s matinee and moving to Cupertino’s Flint Center for Performing Arts. DPA will then perform for three days in Cupertino, Jan. 13 – 15.
