EpochTV will stream the Shen Yun Symphony Orchestra concert on its platform in the upcoming new year. The 90-minute one-of-a-kind performance will be streamed on Jan. 2, 2022, at 7 p.m. ET.
Shen Yun Performing Arts was founded in New York state in 2006 with a mission to revive 5,000 years of traditional Chinese culture through music and dance. Every year, Shen Yun produces an all-new performance and tours with it around the world.

Shen Yun’s all-original compositions feature a perfect harmony of classical music from the East and West. The Shen Yun Symphony Orchestra performance features Erhu (a two-stringed Chinese instrument) solos, imperial-style marches, and folk-inspired melodies, along with timeless orchestral classics by Tchaikovsky, Smetana, and Gounod.

“The music they’ve created is such an excellent combination of traditional melodies,” said Dr. Richard Webb, organist, musicologist, and professor of Southern University.

“Delightful,” said Per Brevig, conductor and professor of The Juilliard School. “They blend the Chinese instruments so very well with the Western instruments.”

“Really wonderful! I’d be interested in playing some of this music or trying some of it myself,” said Charles Castleman, virtuoso violinist and professor of the Eastman School of Music.

This online concert is free of charge for EpochTV subscribers.
