TAINAN, Taiwan—Professor Song Zhenzhao, Dean of the Graduate Institute of Political Economy, National Cheng Kung University, was fascinated by the magnificence of the show presented by the Divine Performing Arts (DPA) International Company.
After viewing DPA’s premiere in Tainan on Feb. 20, he praised the magnificent backdrops, animation, dance, and color. He said that after watching this show, he was deeply touched by the performance.
Dr. Song said DPA had consolidated traditional Chinese culture and the diverse range of ethnic groups and folk traditions, which demonstrated the depth of Chinese culture.
He said, “I think every act was choreographed so wonderfully that it had something special in it, they were very inspiring.
“In terms of the overall picture, the combination of the Udumbara flower and the dance [The Udumbara’s Bloom] is amazing. Not only did it inspire the audience, but also the audience could appreciate the beauty of the scene. With high-tech backdrops, colorful animation, choreographed dances, touching music, the overall presentation was very impressive. The quality was really excellent—above international levels.
“While watching the show, I merged into the program as if I were part of the scene, and the performance overpowered me. It was indeed very enjoyable.
“Because the program is so wonderful, it should be recommended to more people in all walks of life. Everyone should have the opportunity to see the show. They would definitely gain something. I felt I have gained a lot. It is very impressive and very touching.”
He said that seeing The Monkey King Triumphs reminded him of many things from his childhood. This is a story about a Buddhist monk traveling to India in search of scriptures, joined by an ogre, a pig, and a miraculous monkey they met en route.
Dr. Song holds a Ph.D. degree in political economy, and is an expert in social science. He has been involved in international relations and political economy in Southeast Asia. He thought this program could help purify the human heart. The show’s peaceful music, magnificent colors, and dynamic backdrops of pastoral landscapes made him feel very peaceful, as if the environment had become more beautiful.
“There was some content about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in the show. [Dignity and Compassion and Heaven Awaits Us Despite Persecution]
“How could such evil atrocities happen in a society that’s supposed to be so wonderful? Such violent deeds happening in this beautiful world are hard to tolerate. In the scene, a happy family was broken up due to the persecution.
“After seeing that, I enlightened that we need everyone working together to maintain a high-quality and peaceful society,” concluded Professor Song.
