CHICAGO—“I feel elevated, uplifted. I feel like I have seen beauty,” said Anne Schumacher, a retired professor, after attending Shen Yun Performing Arts at the Civic Opera House on Saturday, April 23rd.

Shen Yun’s last performance ends tomorrow on Easter Day with only a matinee performance to attend. This is the fifth year Shen Yun Performing Arts dance company has returned to Chicago. Its mission is to reclaim and renew the true, divine culture of China.

What impressed Ms. Schumacher the most was the beauty the performance conveyed and the strong spiritual message. “It is full of beauty. I was also very touched by the strong spiritual message. This is the first time I have seen it, but I will never miss it again.”

According to Shen Yun’s Performing Arts web page: After more than 60 years of communist rule, especially after the Cultural Revolution, Chinese traditional culture has all but been completely demolished.

“It speaks very much for China, of what it needs. I am really glad [Shen Yun] is helping to revive the 5,000-year-old culture,” said Ms. Schumacher.
