Nolcha Fashion Week’s Arthur Mandel: Shen Yun ‘Breathtaking’

NEW YORK—The vibrancy of color displayed by Shen Yun Performing Arts caught the eye of Arthur Mandel, Nolcha Fashion Week president, who was at the 2011 New York premiere held at the David H. Koch Theater, Lincoln Center on Thursday, Jan. 6.

Nolcha Fasion Week is a platform for independent designers all over the world to present their creations in New York and London during fashion week.

Mr. Mandel struggled to find words to describe the New York-based Shen Yun performance.

“I think everything was just perfect, I mean, to the tee. It was amazing, you could say breathtaking, which is why I can’t say so much—it was that good,” Mr. Mandel said.

Terry Isakova, a speech pathologist who also works with Mr. Mandel on Nolcha Fashion Week, was captivated by the dance—a series of very difficult moves—jumps, flips, twists, and spins that have been a part of classical Chinese dance for thousands of years.

“I can’t wait until after intermission to see the rest!” declared Ms. Isakova.
