A Nevada neighborhood showed solidarity and support for law enforcement last month in the most colorful way you can imagine on a summer’s night.
The officers were so inspired by the sight they captioned it along with the photo:
“They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but there aren’t enough words to explain what this picture means to us.
“An entire neighborhood in Mesquite changed their front porch lights blue to show their support for law enforcement. This is just another reminder of how lucky we are to work in this community and we are grateful for such amazing support.”
Bobbi Kuspa, one of the residents who lives in the neighborhood, said she was the second person there to go “blue” in support of local police.
She added that, including her home, there are now 40 others following suit.
Local MPD Sargent Wyatt Oliver told the news outlet just how much the gesture meant to him and his fellow officers.
“This is so important to us. You look at the picture and you can tell it’s a very powerful image,“ he said. ”And then to actually drive through there at night, it’s even more—it brings out a lot of emotions, especially with everything going on in the country right now. It means so much to us that our community has come together to express this show of support for us.”
