NEW YORK—Nelson Blue, a New Zealand restaurant and bar in the Seaport, officially re-opened its doors on Dec. 31, after a 14-month closure due to Hurricane Sandy.

The restaurant is named after owner Pauli Morgan’s New Zealand hometown, Nelson.

It features New Zealand cuisine such as Mesculun Salad With Marinated Beets, Cucumbers, Feta Cheese and Sherry Vinaigrette ($10); New Zealand Char-Grilled Sirloin Burger With Egg, Pickled Vegetables, and a Slice of Pineapple ($15.50); and Grilled Mahi Mahi Arugula, With Tomato, Pickled Onions, and Mango Chutney, served with fries or salad ($14).

“We always knew we wanted to come back,” Morgan told DNAInfo. “It hasn’t been easy, but we love this neighborhood. It’s where we belong.”
