Natalie Cole, a nine-time Grammy Award winner, is writing a memoir about her last year’s successful kidney transplant and the death of her sister Cookie—both of which happened on the same day.
The 256-page book, Love Brought Me Back: A Journey of Loss and Gain, documents the “family, love, heartbreak, and healing” of the singer, according to the book’s Amazon.com description.
Over the past four decades, 60 year old Cole, has performed around the globe. She sold tens of millions of records in the genres of R&B, pop, and jazz. As an actress, she has appeared in films and dramas, including Lily in Winter, Always Outnumbered, Livin’ for Love: The Natalie Cole Story, and Law and Order.
