ST. PAUL, Minn.—Seeing his Chinese heritage through Shen Yun was awe-inspiring for Mr. Hue Van Lien. “The performance is excellent!” exclaimed the manufacturing company president. He, his wife and children joined the appreciative audience welcoming the return of Shen Performing Arts New York Company to Minnesota at the lovely Ordway Performing Arts Center, March 16.
He was excited by Shen Yun’s presentation of classical Chinese dance and music, and said, “I’m really impressed. I’ve been living here for 30-something years and now [Shen Yun] pulled us back to our own culture. So, it’s a really great show.”
Mr. Hue Van Lien explained that when his wife and children described Shen Yun after attending it last year, he knew he couldn’t miss the world-renowned show when it returned. “The first time, they came home and bragged about it. I kind of missed it and I said to make sure the next time Shen Yun comes around I would be with my family. The performance is excellent.”
He saw profound meanings in the performances and said, “The show is bringing a lot of meaning ... and about the culture. A lot of energy, a lot of history to it.”
Like audience members world-wide, Mr. Hue was amazed by Shen Yun’s hi-tech backdrops that set the stage amid lush tropical lakes or deep forests. He said, “Really a lot of creative things! All the stuff on stage is really amazing.”
He enjoyed seeing traditional, ancient Chinese culture tonight and said he would recommend Shen Yun to his friends: “It’s a great thing; it’s going to make me brag about it for a while. I’m going to tell a lot of our friends. So, it’s a really great show.”
