United States Senator Mitch McConnell was particularly pleased to welcome Shen Yun to his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky. “The Chinese New Year is traditionally a time of celebration with family and friends, commemorating thousands of years of Chinese heritage. This performance is a perfect blend of celebration and Chinese culture,” said Senator McConnell in his greeting letter.

New York-based Shen Yun Performing Arts has three touring companies that perform simultaneously around the world, presenting an all-new program each year. Shen Yun is dedicated to revitalizing the ancient Chinese culture that has been destroyed by the 60-plus-year rule of the communist regime. Audiences witness the 5,000 years of divinely-inspired culture and history of China told through story telling of beloved legends and myths with classical Chinese dance, folk and ethnic dance, and original music.

Mayor Greg Fischer states in a letter, “This spectacular cultural event has dazzled live audiences all over the world and we are delighted they have returned to Louisville once more.”

He continues, “The Shen Yun Performing Arts is quickly earning a reputation for presenting the very best of traditional Chinese culture. The performances offer a fascinating and altogether unique window into China’s past and present as seen through the eyes of its artist and its people.”

“These award-winning dancers and music company provide an exhilarating production, captivating all who attend. The teamwork and physical prowess required to achieve this level of success speaks volumes about their work ethic their enthusiasm, and their commitment to excellence,” said Mayor Fischer in his letter.
