LINKÖPING, Sweden—Many Chinese attended the Shen Yun Performing Arts afternoon show on Saturday, March 21, at Konsert & Kongress in Linköping. Linköping is a city with several Swedish universities and attracts many foreign students.

A young Chinese student, Mr. Fen, was in the audience. He was deeply moved by the show. He has studied in Linköping and speaks fluent English. He sat with a fellow-student, Mr. Giorgiev, a Bulgarian.

“Well, it’s amazing, I cried. I’m a tough guy, I always felt I’m a strong guy, but I cried in there. It was something that touched me.

“I thought everything is like it’s supposed to be. But when I came here [Sweden], I got to know some nice, compassionate people. Nothing wrong about them, they’re nice, they are compassionate and truthful. There is nothing wrong [with the family in the show], that is amazing. Why do we have to stop it [in China]?” asked Mr. Fen.

He is referring to the program [Heaven Awaits Us Despite Persecution] about the family who practice Falun Dafa and is persecuted in China.

“In the United States a majority of the people are religious, and the country still runs well. In China, the constitution says that people can believe whatever they want, but when people believe in Falun Gong, why do you shut them down?

“‘Fighting with heaven, fighting with earth, fighting with people,’ this no longer works. In this society [Swedish], we pursue sustainability, we pursue harmony, and we pursue beautiful things.

“If a country wants to have a future, if it wants to be prosperous, it has to value its traditional culture. It’s like a tree, like a metaphor, if you take the roots from a tree, how do you expect it to grow?

“They [Shen Yun] are showing traditional arts, traditional music, and classical dancing. Well, I don’t know what to say, I cried!

“I liked the music and the piano playing. I also liked the soprano. And also the Chinese drums, the dancing, the minority people’s dances, and everything was very good,” said Mr. Fen.

His fellow-student, Mr. Giorgiev agrees with Mr. Fen.

“Yes, I loved it. Really, I loved it. It’s wonderful, loved the whole performance and the way the actors expressed their feelings, and they are able to transfer it to the audience. It’s wonderful. I understand neither Chinese nor Swedish, but I understand what they’re acting. It’s wonderful,” says Mr. Giorgiev.

Mr. Giorgiev, who also plays piano, wishes to be able to see Shen Yun Performing Arts in Bulgaria one day.

“That would be wonderful. I wish all my friends at home could see it.”

Finally Mr. Fen said:  “I think if they keep on doing this show, they’re going to go far. This show is amazing!”

Note: Mr Fen´s name is changed and picture omitted in order to avoid repercussions from the Chinese regime.
