Julia Roberts, 51, Looks Fabulous After Losing a Few Pounds, and Her Secret Is Revealed

When fans of Julia Roberts began to notice their idol looking slimmer and fitter than she had in a while, most wondered, “How did she do it?”

At the age of 51, and with three children, twins Phinnaeus and Hazel, 14, and Henry, 11, in tow, Roberts is looking fabulous. In September 2018, for the premiere of her film Ben Is Back, she looked gorgeous at the Toronto International Film Festival, posing on the red carpet in a slinky black dress that accentuated her slim waist.

How did Roberts manage to lose those unwanted pounds that can creep upon all of us as we venture into middle age? Her success in losing the excess baggage came easily. It was due to the increase in an exercise she imposed upon herself with a busy filming schedule for the role of Heidi Bergman, in an Amazon Prime thriller, Homecoming. She was always on her feet, climbing up and down the stairs and in high heels at that, usually carrying heavy bags, as per Daily Mail.
The actress told Bang Showbiz: “Yes it’s called cardio acting and you carry a ton of stuff, talk on the phone, be in heels and be up and down the stairs all day. I went down a pant size which is true!”

Sam Esmail, the series co-creator and director, said, “It is true!”

The award-winning actress also focuses on a healthy well-balanced diet.

In an interview with People in 2017, she revealed her weakness around cookies. “I love a good cookie!” she said.

The actress is also fond of pasta. “Why is everybody scared of pasta? Pasta never did anything to you,” she joked. “Don’t be mean to pasta.”

As to her youthful exterior, the actress once told In Style Magazine that she does everything in moderation and revealed that a strict diet would drive her crazy.
“So I think, better just to remain calm, drink your water, get your sleep and be joyful,” she said.

In her last movie, Ben Is Back, Roberts plays Holly, the mom of teenage drug addict Ben, played by onscreen son Lucas Hedges. Roberts does everything within her power to help Ben stay clean, and she demonstrates the power of a mother’s undying love.
During an interview with Extra, Roberts confided that in real life she would do anything for her brood. “Oh, anything! I mean, that is the universal connective tissue of mothers and mother figures in the world. There is nothing you would not do to help, save, support, hold your child close,” she said.

Many stars feel the pressure of having to quickly lose weight after they have piled on a few pounds. Lucky for Roberts, exercise was built into her role.

If you have a lot of pounds to lose, don’t be disheartened, just start slowly, even a short walk around the yard or streets is a great start to a more healthy lifestyle. Turning flab to fab is not impossible, you just need to get yourself off the couch, grab an apple instead of those chips, and get walking! Take some inspiration from Roberts, and get yourself mobile. She is the picture of healthy weight loss.
