The Grand Canyon North Rim is now open until mid-October (it then closes for the winter months). If you are a serious traveler, the best–kept secret of the Grand Canyon adventure is to visit the unspoiled North Rim.

Grand Canyon North Rim will offer you a spiritual experience with the matchless beauty and the silence of nature, stimulate your emotions, bring you back to the base of humility through the grand artwork of the Creator.

To get there you need to drive as there is no public transportation. It’s about a 2 hours drive from Page city or Kanab city.

If you drive from South Rim, it will take you about 5 hours. Yes, it’s only 345km, but you will want to stop a few times on the way to view the scenery, the Grand Canyon National Park entry ticket is valid for South and North Rims. Indeed the direct distance between North Rim and South Rim is only 16 km.

No matter from which way you go, you need to pass Kaibab National Forest, this drive is in itself a treat with pleasant scenery and beautiful animals, you'll see groups of deer with big donkey-like ears (they are called “Mule deer”) foraging in the grass, they are particularly fond of the grass along the roadside. Drive carefully, some deer like the grass on the other side of the road!

At the first overlook of North Rim, you will be rendered speechless with the breathtaking scenery. A giant book opens right in front of your eyes, Earth’s history is written in this book page after page, today is just the current page still being written.

Although both South and North Rims have great facilities, the North Rim is more stylish than the South Rim. Both the architectural design and layout, and materials and colors are all in harmony with the surrounding landscape. At the Lodge Dining Room people can enjoy a magnificent 180 degree view and every log cabin is “A Room with a view”.

The North Rim is about 2500 meters above sea level, more than 500 meters higher than South Rim. Water pipes are directly connected to natural springs from the mountains, the spring water is clear and sweet. If you want to take some water with you when you leave, you need to prepare a few empty bottles in advance as they don’t sell bottled water there.

The Grand Canyon is one of the Seven Wonders of the World, located in northwestern Arizona on the Colorado Plateau with a total length of over 400 km, of which the most spectacular scenery of some of about 170 km long was turned into Grand Canyon National Park.
