SAN FRANCISCO—Mr. Miller, a CEO of an insurance company attended Divine Performing Arts in San Fransisco Friday night with his family and friends.
“My wife and I and my friends thought it was a terrific show. It was colorful—we liked the message. You know, I think there were several messages that I think had to do with the spiritual,” said Mr. Miller.
“Truth is very important... in any language and in any culture, I think that is the most important thing,” he added, of the another theme that he and his wife saw contained in the DPA performance.
“So I think that when you touch upon that as you have here, it comes across very clear. I think we all need to be truthful, open, and honest and I think the world would be a lot better place if we all were. So, that’s the feeling I think came across.”
Mr. Miller’s favorite dance was the finale, “Knowing the True Picture Offers Ultimate Hope”: “I think the last scene was the most... it was all terrific, but the last one I think was just beautiful. The colors and the message... I think it was terrific.”
“Its a great way to get a message across. I wasn’t expecting that. I liked the healing—the holistic healing... segment. Where the body and the mind were connected,” declared Mrs. Miller, referring to the dance, “The Miraculous Exhibit”.
This latter piece tells a story about a young man with a broken arm visits a gallery hosting an exhibit of Falun Dafa art, and grows captivated by the meditative practice depicted therein. After his injury forbids him from imitating the posture of an exhibit statue, a magical scene of life-changing proportions unfolds.
The couple also thought that the DPA orchestra was “fantastic.”
“It was very moving. I felt the emotion and it drew me in to the feelings, the hope, and the spirit. I think they acquired that—I think they did a good job,” said Mrs. Miller.
The DPA orchestra combines Western and Chinese musical instruments to create a unique and beautiful sound. Currently it is the world’s only orchestra that embraces both Western and Chinese instruments together.
The couple went further to describe the show as a great way to start the new year.
The Millers’ friend Tom also found a valuable message in the show, that of “seeking the truth and finding.”
“I think that’s a great message that goes across the generations. So, I think it was excellently done and I think the choreography was awesome... even just the colors and how it flowed and just the vibrancy of it... it was very special and we definitely appreciate the hard work. There is so much labor that goes into creating something like this—it’s just amazing,” he said.
The show’s changing backdrop also appealed to the software developer. He said of animations contained in several of the acts: “You even have the guys come down from the backdrops... it was very 3 dimensional—it was awesome.”
