You don’t need to be a professional florist—or spend much time—to make these festive flower arrangements from one single bouquet. The following instructions are a recipe for success.

Ingredients:

1 medium-sized fresh flower bouquet to fit the holiday spirit (roses, mixed flowers, carnations)
1 fresh evergreen branch
1 medium-sized clear glass container, vase, or canning jar
4 mini-vases such as small canning jars, wine glasses, brandy snifters, pottery goblets, empty jars, or coffee cups
1/2 to 1 bag of fresh cranberries and/or nuts, acorns, glass or plastic pebbles, seashells
Raffia or ribbon for simple bows

Directions:

Cut flowers to the height of the container. Remove leaves and needles from the lower stems of the flowers and greenery to keep the water clean. Fill two-thirds of the container with cranberries and then add water. (If flowers come with a preservative packet, add some to the water.) Arrange a few flowers and pieces of greenery in the container, tie on some raffia or ribbon, and add a bow if desired.

Repeat directions with other containers. Experiment by adding just a layer or small amount of cranberries, pebbles, or acorns to the containers, or fill to the top. Add or replace water as needed. Cranberries keep approximately 5 to 7 days. Place arrangements around the home for that festive touch.
