A water-loving dog enjoys the pool in his owner’s backyard so much that he swims for hours daily, refusing to leave.

The 5-year-old labrador discovered his passion for swimming after his owners installed a pool in their backyard last year.

Jennifer Henry, a health educator from Milton, Florida, said she recently began hearing the pooch leap into the pool daily.

“It’s only our second summer with the pool, so we didn’t realize [he loved it so much] until last year,” Ms. Henry said. “He spends 1 to 3 hours in the pool every day ... he gets in whenever he wants to, he'll just randomly jump in.

“We‘ll hear barking and splashing, and we’ll know he’s in there swimming around.”

However, Ms. Henry wishes that Buster would spend less time in the pool—because of the noise he creates—but has realized it’s impossible to stop him.

“I can yell at him as much as I want, but he won’t get out,” Ms. Henry said.

Buster is so passionate that he has convinced his 14-year-old brother Scooby to try the pool, however, Scooby isn’t quite as obsessed as his brother.

Unlike Buster, Scooby is obedient and actually listens to Ms. Henry when she tells him to get out of the pool.

Despite complaining about her swimming dog, Ms. Henry is glad Buster enjoys the pool as the pooch was diagnosed with cancer at 2. He was given just 6 months to live, so she’s happy to let him enjoy life.

“Sometimes we get a little frustrated when we can’t get him out, but we really just want him to live life,” Ms. Henry said.
