Georgia Officer’s Daughter Wraps Up in Protective Gear and Gives Her Dad an Emotional Hug

An emotional video of a little girl from Georgia getting ready in protective gear to give her father, a police officer, a hearty hug has tugged at the heartstrings of social media users around the world.

Michael Davis’s granddaughter wanted to embrace her father, Matt, an officer who works with Henry County, Georgia.

In the wake of the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus, commonly known as the novel coronavirus, Matt, who works on the front lines, has had to separate from his three children as he didn’t wish to contaminate them.

However, his little daughter, who was staying with her grandparents, wanted a warm hug from her heroic father, and thus the family found a way to make her wish come true by making it as safe as they could, Fox News reported.

The sweet video, which surfaced in April, depicts the grandfather placing a mask on the little girl before wrapping her up in plastic that covers her entire body as she approaches her father for a hug.

The emotional cuddle between the father and daughter, which lasted for a few seconds, took the internet by storm.

The precocious grandfather said that his granddaughter was safe at all times, and after the heartfelt embrace, everything was removed carefully and placed in a hazard bag.

“All first responders and medical heroes are exposed to this virus…The tears my family shed is for every person out there making this sacrifice and pray that God will protect us all,” Michael wrote on the Facebook post, as reported by Fox News.

Although the initial video that was posted has been made private, Michael reposted the video again on his Facebook timeline.

“It seems that the video of My Granddaughter just wanting a hug from her Father has exploded and gone viral,” he wrote. “This seemed to be a simple act, but the truth is that all of America’s Heroes are in the same shape.”

The grandfather revealed that the video had garnered more than 14 million views and was even shown on the A&E series Live PD.

Michael, who works with a group of the best medical professionals, also took the opportunity to remind everyone of the sacrifice that the doctors and nurses on the front lines make daily in order to take care of their patients.

“They leave their Families and children not knowing what the sacrifice that they are making and how it will effect each and every Family member,” Michael wrote. “All Medical and First res-ponders are making this sacrifice as many others that keep this great America safe and running.”

Expressing his gratitude to those working hard amid the pandemic, Michael said he would pray for each one of them to remain safe.

With the social distancing measures put in place to curb the spread of the CCP virus, many people have come up with various approaches to give their near and dear ones a hug in the safest way possible.

A 29-year-old plasterer named Antony Cauvin, from England, who missed his grandmother dearly invented a smart apparatus called the “Cuddle Curtain,” which could help him give his grandma a hug without flouting social distancing.

The innovative solution has long plastic safety sleeves attached to a transparent shower curtain, allowing two people to stand opposite one another and embrace without making direct contact.
