Inspiring good deeds and spreading kindness can be fun and rewarding.

Gan Jing World, a U.S.-based social media platform, has launched a video contest showcasing kindness in daily life to “spark this greater trend of kindness in today’s world,” the company says on its website.

The most recent hashtag competition event, #KindnessIsCool Video Awards, started on Sept. 1 and runs through Dec. 31, 2023. Participants are encouraged to share their acts of kindness in the form of videos and shorts for a chance to win up to $10,000 in cash. Gan Jing World will announce the winners of the event on Feb. 1, 2024.
“The smallest of acts can make a big impact,” Gan Jing World writes on its website, calling on participants to “spark this greater trend of kindness in today’s world.”

Nick Janicki, director of media relations at Gan Jing World, told The Epoch Times on Sept. 1 that the event will spread the word to 500 million people, including its own user base, viewers of a billboard on Times Square, outdoor displays, online/offline advertising, and through connecting with millions of influencers and their followers.

This is Gan Jing World’s most recent awards event after it had successfully hosted multiple events to foster family bonds.

“We want to provide a great platform and help users honor Dads around the world for their unyielding strength, courage, and guidance,” Mr. Janicki told The Epoch Times in a previous interview.
In June, the social media platform held its 2023 #GJWBestDad Hashtag Photo Awards, receiving heartwarming entries from its users. A photo depicting a father’s iconic role as the pillar in the lives of his children won the top prize of $1,000 in the contest, according to NTD on July 19.

Former Apple Daily newspaper columnist Simon Lee appreciates the Gan Jing World’s efforts to create this family-friendly event, especially for kids.

“#KindnessIsCool Video Award is actually really cool,” says Mr. Lee on Gan Jing World. He thinks that the platform is a great place for children to “build their character” and that the event is an “amazing idea.”
“I want our kids to be really able to enjoy nature, the world, the human relationship, and let them create their own story in a safe space.”
