VIENNA, Austria—Shen Yun Performing Arts is making its fourth guest appearance in Austria’s capital in as many years. The New York-based company is once again bringing world-class classical Chinese dance and music to Vienna.
Mr. Reiner Schmid, an event manager, and his wife, former Russian dancer, Maria Schmid, were in attendance at the Wiener Stadthalle on May 1. They said they loved the show.
“Immensely interesting,” said Mr. Schmid. “For me there was so much to see and learn and take in. I have never seen anything like it. The show affords one a glimpse into another culture.”
Maria Schmid echoed her husband’s view and thought the show would also be of great benefit to children.
She said the experience of the performance was truly a cultural enrichment, saying, “We don’t know enough about China.”
“The ease of the movements ... but what makes it appear easy is hard training.”
As a former professional Russian dancer, Ms. Schmid was truly impressed.
“I noticed the rainbow of colors and am only too aware how colors and melodies can mentally affect people.
“The dances touched me deeply, because of their intensity. Everything is simply beautiful,” she said.
