New Release

‘Tokyo Cowboy’

Japanese businessman Hideki (Arata Iura) travels to a struggling Montana cattle ranch, confident he can turn it around for his superiors in Japan. As his plans unravel, he braves unfamiliar territory, realizing that his own transformation may be the key to success.

The character interactions are authentic and grounded, framed by a rich exploration of cultural exchange and mutual respect. The film’s stunning cinematography enhances this dynamic, seamlessly capturing both the vibrant energy of Tokyo and the serene beauty of Montana.

Family Pick

‘The Fox and the Hound’

This early 1980s animated story centers on the unlikely friendship between Tod, a fox (Mickey Rooney), and Copper, a hound (Kurt Russell). When they grow into adulthood, their bond faces challenges as they come to terms with being natural enemies in the animal kingdom.

This film remains one of my personal favorites and is still sorely underappreciated. With its superb voice acting, interesting characters, fluid animation, and a timeless story about friendship and respect, it deserves more recognition.

A Spellbinding Tale of Redemption

‘The Verdict’

Crime dramas are Sidney Lumet’s specialty, and “The Verdict” is no exception. Paul Newman shines as Frank Galvin, a washed-up Boston lawyer with a drinking problem. He gets a chance at redemption by taking on a high-stakes medical malpractice case.

This film is a masterclass in storytelling, showcasing why it’s considered one of the greatest “little guy vs. the system” dramas. Newman delivers one of his finest performances, portraying a man clawing his way back to dignity and professional respect.

Drama Release Date: Dec. 17, 1982 Director: Sidney Lumet Starring: Paul Newman, Charlotte Rampling, Jack Warden Running Time: 2 hours, 9 minutes MPAA Rating: R Where to Watch: Amazon, Vudu, AMC on Demand Rated: 4 1/2 stars out of 5

A Tense Cold War Nightmare

‘Fail Safe’

Due to a computer error, a U.S. bomber squadron mistakenly receives orders to launch a nuclear strike on Moscow. The situation escalates as Soviet communication jammers hinder any attempts to recall the planes.

This chilling Cold War thriller is elevated by a stellar cast, strong performances, and an ever-growing sense of dread as the possibility of nuclear war looms large.
