Two dance students from the University of San Francisco, Courtney and Keriann, attended Divine Performing Arts’ opening performance at the San Diego Civic Theater on Friday 26 Dec.

Keriann was excited that she was invited to attend the show, “It was really cool, it was just fun to watch, I like to watch different styles.”

“It was fun to see the history through the dance.” she added.

“They really brought the storyline really well in their movement, very good facial expressions and it was very playful and fun,” Courtney said. “It was very theatrical and fun, it was good to see a nice theatrical show after we have seen a whole bunch of modern-based dance.”

Being dance students they could appreciate the skill and technique of the dancers.

“All the intricate detailing that they put into is really what makes it,” Keriann said.

Courtney helps with the costumes at her dance school, so she was thoroughly impressed.

“The head pieces were really cool, I am just surprised at how fast they changed and how they kept everything on, is what I am amazed with, after you have done quick changes, but I was sitting there, I was like.. I don’t know how that’s still there, while they are doing what they are doing, so that was cool.”

San Diego will be host to three more shows over the weekend.
