SEOUL, South Korea—On Feb. 7, the curtain of the fourth Divine Performing Arts show in Seoul fell in the midst of an enthusiastic round of applause from the excited audience. The Deputy Commissioner of the Grand National Party, Hye-Ja Gimcheon, described the show as a perfect performance and “it’s so fabulous that the whole world would envy!”
Hye-Ja Gimcheon had also seen the DPA show last year. She was impassioned and praised the show with a variety of adjectives: “It’s perfect! I’m deeply thrilled and my heart is still pounding with excitement, it could not pound any faster than this! This is Heaven! Nothing could be more beautiful than this!”
She also adored the costumes. “They are so gorgeous! Maybe it was because China is the homeland of silk; the costumes are resplendent, as if they are flowers sprinkled upon the world by the angels! Maybe for the reason that China has a five-millennia history, whether it’s the costumes or whatever, they are all so exquisite, the pinnacle of elegance! One asks, who could ever match this level of excellence?
“The music ... the melody has an indescribable sense of stirring, solemn and makes one wish to search for something within the lingering music.
“I very much appreciate that DPA has unfolded China’s 5,000-year-old culture for us. I’m truly grateful.
“It’s really wonderful, really splendid! Performing such a graceful show around the world for us makes the audience filled with much much gratitude.”
At the end of the interview, Ms. Gimcheon said: “It would be really nice if every arts group could be as successful as DPA and be welcomed around the world. I hope that human souls can be as gentle and attractive as clothes made with silk. There are neither red nations nor black nations. I even more wish that the souls of people in this world could have the same beauty that the DPA World Tour has.
“I sincerely thank all members of DPA for making our hearts warm and peaceful. One should persist in conquering difficulties and good karma will follow.”
