Remember the 12-year-old boy who went viral last year for tearfully singing through the renewal of his parents’ wedding vows? Now, he has another feather in his cap.

Aiden Armstrong, 13, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, touched millions with his solo singing at his parents’ vow renewal in March 2020. And this year, on April 15, he released his first song, “I Am Fine,” on major streaming platforms like YouTube Music and Spotify.

Having a natural talent for singing and music, Aiden had never been through any formal music training. However, after moving millions through his heartfelt singing, his parents have decided to get him professional training to help give him the toolset to continue inspiring others through his music.

He is currently doing voice coaching and music lessons,“ Aiden’s mother, Kemorene Mills Armstrong, told The Epoch Times, adding that his love for music has grown ”tremendously.”

Aiden began writing his first song back in February. Struggling initially to come up with the title of the song, he nearly gave up on writing. Mrs. Armstrong encouraged him to keep at it though, and he persevered.

“He, later in the evening, asked me to listen to the song, but it was different,” Mrs. Armstrong said.

Mother and son knew the song had something special, and Aiden continued polishing the song, working on the chord progressions and lyrics.

“It took Aiden about four weeks to write the complete song,” his mom said. “We supported him along the way because he involved us by asking what we thought about some word choices.”

Aiden shared that he was “scared” when he sang during his parents’ wedding vow renewal last year as he was facing an audience for the first time. And when he began singing, the 12-year-old boy was overwhelmed with emotion.

“I didn’t want to mess up, so I just tried my best, and it worked out,” Aiden told The Epoch Times in the previous interview. “I just kind of braced myself. ... I knew I couldn’t be crying all the time. I just had to just get over it and then start singing.”

His love for singing and music has grown multifold over the last year.

The proud mom says although her teen son faced some challenges while writing his first song, he overcame them all by “being persistent and not giving up.”
