For novice and advanced cooks, Institute of Culinary Education is offering a course on how to make great pizza at home.
It doesn’t matter whether you like thin crust or thick crust, tons of sauce or little sauce, the class will cover it all.
The course will teach you how to make dough and prepare various toppings.
You will learn by working hands-on to make Traditional Pizza Margherita (tomatoes, basil and mozzarella); Pizza Bianca (ricotta, mozzarella, Parmigiano Reggiano, and Gorgonzola); Roasted Pepper and Goat Cheese Pizza with Spicy Garlic Oil; Portobello Pizza with Balsamic Vinegar; Pancetta and Cheese Pizza Topped with Arugula and Tomato Salad; Prosciutto and Ricotta Calzone; Southern Italian Home-Style Pizza; Roman Potato Pizza; Sfinciuni (the original Sicilian pizza); Barese Pizza (caramelized onions, anchovies, and olives); and Focaccia.
The class runs for four and a half hours, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The tuition is $110, but Serious Eats offers a coupon for $16.50 off. The next classes take place on Sat. Aug. 3 and Sunday Aug. 25.
