With the unveiling of the JBF Kitchen Cam, curious cooks and foodies can now get a look at how renowned chefs go about creating dinner at the James Beard House.
Viewers can toggle between three separate cameras: a full view of the kitchen, the stovetop, and the counter where dishes are prepped and plated.
The launch, which took place Monday, coincided with a dinner prepared by chef Daniel Boulud and his team, with dishes from his latest book, “Daniel: My French Cuisine.”
James Beard Foundation president Susan Ungaro, via the Kitchen Cam, called Boulud a “master conductor” and a “tough act to follow.”
The livestream starts about 5 p.m. and lasts for several hours, as each course is prepped, plated, and sent out to diners.
The JBF Kitchen Cam will stream most James Beard House events. Upcoming dinners include: Songkran Thai New Year Celebration, with Pichet Ong, Jet Tila, and Hong Thaimee on April 11; Made in Memphis, with JBF semifinalists Michael Hudman and Andrew Ticer on April 22.
