Amtrak Vacations has unveiled its newest itinerary, “Yellowstone to Yosemite by Rail—Teddy Roosevelt Trail,” a two-week trip that takes participants from Chicago to San Francisco and includes multiple overnight stays at hotels near Yellowstone and Yosemite National Parks.
Hotel stays are included in the journey’s starting and end cities, as well as in Salt Lake City. The trip getaway also features two nights onboard Amtrak’s California Zephyr train and sightseeing activities in each destination.
The route taken will be the approximate same route featured in the TV show “Yellowstone to Yosemite with Kevin Costner.” Both follow the same journey taken by President Theodore Roosevelt and naturalist John Muir from America’s first national park to Yosemite Valley in California.
Pricing for Amtrak Vacation’s newest train journey begins at $2,679 per person and includes rail, hotel, sightseeing, and other activities from the itinerary.
Amtrak Vacations combines rail travel and inclusive travel packages for guests and clients to make the most of a journey to amazing cities, landscapes, and national parks.
Amtrak Vacations offers nearly 200 independent journeys featuring National Parks trips that can begin or end at any of Amtrak’s stations across 46 U.S. states. The trips can be customized to add nights, upgrade hotels and rail classes, and more.
