A New Jersey native with a French repertoire from her experience at L'Arpège restaurant under chef Alain Passard, Freitag adds dashes of French, Italian, and Mediterranean to the beloved American diner menu.
Notable main plates include pork on pork chop, with crispy pancetta, cranberry beans, and kale ($21); oyster pan roast with pork belly, poached oyster, potatoes, pumpernickel ($16); and trout almondine, with pan roasted trout, toasted almonds, brown butter ($19).
The diner’s all-day menu includes the herb omelette, made with fine herbs, crème fraiche, brioche toast ($12); Empire burger with brioche, special sauce, cheddar cheese, pickle, onion, lettuce ($16); and buttermilk pancakes, fluffy pancakes, maple syrup, winter fruit compote ($11).
