Learn how to make a delicious trail mix using healthy seeds, nuts, and fruit from health expert Arielle Hapsel . Satisfy your hunger (and that sweet tooth) during long road trips and flights. Try this recipe and treat yourself!

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup raw almonds
  • 1/4 cup pistachios
  • 1/4 cup pumpkin seeds
  • 1 Tbsp. sesame seeds
  • 1 Tbsp. hemp seeds
  • 3 Tbsp. shredded coconut or 1/4 cup coconut flakes (unsweetened)
  • 1/4 cup banana chips (unsweetened)
  • 1 Tbsp. raw cacao chips
  • 1 cup whole-grain spelt pretzels, crushed/halved
  • 1/2 tsp. Kosher salt

Method:

1. Start by adding almonds into a jar. Almonds are a great source of protein and Vitamin E. They are good for your hair and skin too.

2. Next, add some hemp seeds they can be either roasted or shelled hemp seeds.

3. Pumpkin seeds are a good source of potassium and help in preventing your legs from cramping during long road trips. Throw in some of these into your bowl.

4. Then, of course put some banana chips, as they are known to add in some natural sweetness and they have potassium.

5. Make sure to include some pistachios as they are a really good source of fiber.

6. Next, throw in some shredded, unsweetened coconut as it  definitely adds a little bit of exotic taste.

7.  Instead of using white pretzels,  you can use spelt pretzels as this gives in a doze of whole grains and fiber.

8. Finally add some sesame seeds, cacao nibs, and sea salt. Give it a good shake and enjoy your road trip with this most healthy snack.
