Visiting Thailand may be your chance to escape from the busy pace of your everyday life, the chance to relax and enjoy a new country, exotic and otherworldly, or it could be your chance to indulge in some once in a lifetime, adrenalin driven experiences. You can even incorporate both but Thailand is a natural haven packed with sporting excursions for thrillseekers. Here’s our top five.
1. Rock Climbing
The iconic Phi Phi Islands are home to famous limestone karsts and cliffs. Rock climbing has become part and parcel of the intrepid adventurer’s visit to Thailand and if you’re a keen climber than Tonsai Tower has got to be on your life. The climb has several marked routes and titanium bolts and slings to ensure even beginner climbers are catered for.
2. Scuba Diving
Make Koh Samui your base and you'll have a wide range of fantastic scuba diving opportunities. After a few days sunning yourself by the pool of your private luxury villa venture out to see one of the many PADI certified scuba operators in the area. The largest concentration of diving operators is found at Bophut Beach and the waters are full of natural sea life and colourful corals.
