A rare form of cancer struck at this 23-year-old mom, but her young daughter wanted to do all she could to help her fight it.
Dianna Stanchak found out in December 2013 that she was suffering from stage four Hodgkin’s lymphoma, and that’s when her battle began.
At such a young age, to have a cancer spreading throughout one’s body is enough to knock the fighting spirit in the most hardy.
Thankfully, her young daughter, McKenna, at only 4 years of age, is wise beyond her years. In order to encourage her mom to keep fighting, at a support party for Dianna, little McKenna was handed the microphone, as she wanted to sing “I’m Gonna Love You Through It” by country star Martina McBride.
Dianna was in tears at the lyrics, especially at the part: “When you feel lost and scared to death, like you can’t take one more step, just take my hand, together we can do it. I’m gonna love you through it.”
McKenna sang her heart out.
What’s more, Martina McBride tweeted: “I love this too! So touching. And she can SING!”
The video went viral, and even now five years later, it is still being shared.
Let’s hope Dianna’s battle is finally won. With adorable McKenna in her corner, her journey is a rewarding one.
