A belvedere at the Palace of Versailles, France, was officially opened on June 6 after a year of restoration. Marie Antoinette, Queen of France and Navarre from 1774 to 1792, received the octagonal building from her husband, King Louis XVI. Described by Austrian Prince Charles-Joseph of Ligne as “the height of perfection, taste, and carving,” it became the queen’s music room.
