I am not an anti-vaxxer. I am fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and will soon be getting my booster shot. I think that it is a good idea for most people to get vaccinated to protect themselves from this disease. But I have a question.

If the CDC is correct that a vaccinated person can still get the virus and pass it to others, why do we require vaccination proof to go to a restaurant, to attend a play, or even to work? On one hand, governments tell us that we still must be careful around others (social distancing and masking) even if vaccinated, because both the vaccinated and the unvaccinated can spread the virus, and on the other hand the same governments say that being vaccinated somehow protects others. This makes no sense.

Women and men who just last year were hailed as heroes during the pandemic (doctors, nurses, firefighters, and police officers) are now being fired from their jobs for not being vaccinated although the authorities tell us that they pose no more danger to others than their vaccinated co-workers. This makes no sense.
