The Virus We Have

So we have this virus. It has gripped much of the world. It has killed countless people of all ages. It has destroyed economies, businesses, people’s self-esteem, and pride. It has restricted the movement and freedom of countless people. It has resulted in ridiculous inconsistent mandates and rules of restriction. It has forced many people into lesser lives filled with more of those restrictions and mediocrity. It has destroyed freedom of movement and inclusion. Cost jobs. Ended careers. It has started small civil wars, pitting people against each other. Neighbor against neighbor, family member against family member, old against young, authoritarians against regular citizens, educators against educated, even blacks against whites. It has forced businesses to buckle under and quite often go out of business. It has ruined a lot of things we took for granted. There doesn’t seem to be an end in sight as this sickness spreads. So we have this virus. It goes by many names but comes down to mean one thing: the breakdown of our society and “who we are.”

So we have this virus. You can call it progressivism, socialism, or just plain anarchy. But in the end, this virus is just called communism.
