Your newspaper is incredible!

I recently signed up for multiple years. It is such an inspiration. I am an avid reader. The Epoch Times is the number one priority on my reading list now.

Your recent article, “Prisoners Helped by First Step Act Turn Their Lives Around” [by Cara Ding, published Sept. 23], was such an inspiration. My wife and I took in recovering addicts for many years and helped them reestablish their lives. At first, it was a nightmare! Even though I have an MA in Agency Counseling and thought I understood addiction, I did not. Let a drug addict move in with you and then you really get educated in the most frustrating and annoying way. Everyone who lived with us got off drugs and never went back. Praise the Lord.

Back to your newspaper. I find your articles to be fascinating, encouraging, and a tremendous help in so many ways. Almost every issue, like the old commercial for the V8 drink, I touch my forehead and think, “I should have had a V8.” I could think of a hundred superlatives to express my appreciation for your paper. Here are just a few:
  1. Current events you cover in great detail. Awesome!
  2. Mind and Body: It is like having your doctor, counselor, and friend in the back seat of your car.
  3. Home: Your article on “Four Ways to Avoid Stress Spending During the Pandemic” by Rachel Cruze was incredible. I copied it and gave it to my adult children.
  4. The articles in the Sept. 16 edition on “Hard Work and Dirty Jobs Afford Plenty of Opportunity” [by Catherine Yang] and “You’ll Be a Man, My Son: Rudyard Kipling on Manhood” by Jeff Minick were excellent. My first job was working in a steel mill in Ambridge, PA., cleaning out the blast furnaces. Very hard work, but I thought to myself one day, “I have got to get me an education.” Went to college and met my wife of 52 years. I have often told her, “If you ever leave me, I’m going with you!” And I meant it.
All of that to simply say, “Thanks for the hard work all of your people do to help educate and encourage us. We really appreciate it.”

With deep appreciation,
