AARHUS, Denmark—Aarhus is Denmark’s second-largest city, and its history can be traced back to the Viking settlement at the mouth of the Aarhus River. On April 8 and 9, the Concert Hall welcomed Shen Yun Performing Arts to share the beauty of an even more ancient civilization with the Danish audience.
“It’s so wonderful. It’s completely different from what I usually see in theaters or concert halls. It’s great to be able to experience China’s ancient traditions and culture. It’s really amazing,” said Charlotte Broman Mølbæk, a member of the Danish Parliament and her party’s culture spokesperson.
“I think many people were impressed by the outstanding performance of the dancers. It’s fascinating,” said Ms. Mølbæk.
“[Shen Yun] reminds us of how sacred we are as human beings and how important it is to continue to be kind to each other. It reminds us to always pursue love, joy, light, and all these good things,” Ms. Mølbæk said.
“It’s not easy to be Chinese nowadays. These young people are standing up to do something so difficult. It means they can’t go back to China, or they might have conflicts with their families, etc. It’s very inspiring,” Ms. Mølbæk said.
Outstanding Performance
Jan Abildgaard Pedersen, CEO of a private company, was also captivated by Shen Yun’s performance.
“This is an outstanding performance and highly artistic. It definitely provides the audience with an excellent way to understand Chinese culture,” Mr. Pedersen said.
“All the dancers cooperated very well. Their movements are very fluent, and they have a high spirit of self-discipline. The display of techniques and all the details were just right; it’s all amazing,” he said.
“I like the seamless connection between the stage and the backdrop. The performance integrated the backdrop perfectly,” said Mr. Pedersen.
