MONTREAL—Mariana Muscaliuc, a primary school music teacher, watched Shen Yun Performing Arts at the Place des Arts—Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier on April 13.
“It’s been wonderful,” Ms. Muscaliuc said. “I'd like to come back tomorrow, the day after, every day.”
“Everything was perfect,” she said. “The music was perfect, the costumes. ... I was really impressed by the screen. I didn’t expect that. Everything [was] very synchronized.”
“Very good music,” she said. “The instruments really harmonized very well with each other.”
One instrument that stood out to Ms. Muscaliuc was the erhu, a two-stringed traditional Chinese instrument that can express a wide range of emotions.
Ms. Muscaliuc said she was also impressed by the performers.
“Extraordinary,” she said. “They’re all very organized. They’re very hard-working people, I think. Very disciplined. Everything’s really to perfection. ... From start to finish, it’s very pretty to watch, very pretty to see. It’s all beauty and lots of emotion.”
Ms. Muscaliuc said that she felt joy and compassion as she watched the performance, as well as “admiration for ... the delicacy of the dancers.”
As a musician herself, Ms. Muscaliuc was aware of how much hard work is required of the performers.
“Bravo, bravo from the bottom of my heart,” she said.
