Fortunately, this case of brutal animal cruelty had a happy ending thanks to one kind lady and several generous donors.

Animal lover Mary Jane, of Brookhaven, Mississippi, witnessed a heart-shattering scene unfold right in front of her car one day in March 2016 while she was driving down the road, The Animal Rescue Site Blog reported.

She noticed a cruel human in the truck tossing puppies out from the back like they were unwanted garbage. Unbelievable!

Shocked, Mary Jane immediately stopped her car to scoop up the poor puppies.

She placed the terrified animals in her car and transported them to the vet.

Thank goodness all the puppies were fine other than a few scrapes. But there was one canine with brownish fur that wasn’t that lucky.

The injured puppy—named Shamrock, as he was saved around St. Patrick’s Day—had a bruised hind leg.

Besides sustaining injuries from being tossed out of the truck, Shamrock also suffered from an old injury on his right foreleg that wasn’t properly treated. Clearly, the dog hadn’t had the best start in life.

As a result of the injuries, one of Shamrock’s legs was turned inward, and he looked as if he was walking on his ankle.

With donations from GreaterGood Friends Program, Shamrock went through two surgeries to fix his legs.

Brookhaven Animal Rescue League eventually helped all the puppies find new homes. As for Shamrock, Mary Jane kindly took him in.

Gradually, Shamrock was nursed back to health.

Not only did the sweet Shamrock get back on all four paws, but he also found a forever home!

Guess who adopted Shamrock? It was none other than Mary Jane herself!

“He was so attached to us and my other fur babies there was no way I could let him go,” she wrote.

A year later, Mary Jane updated, “Shamrock wants to wish everyone a Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!”

“He wants to thank everyone who helped him with donations and prayers and let them know he’s doing great and loves running and playing with his other fur siblings.”

Look!

Shamrock was enjoying his time with his canine friend at his humble abode.

Thanks to Mary Jane, the animal rescue, and all the generous donors, Shamrock was given a new lease of life.
