Remember Bella Swan and Edward Cullen’s daughter, Renesmee Cullen, in the romantic fantasy film Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2?
The child starlet Mackenzie Foy has grown up into a gorgeous young lady with big, round, sparkling green eyes, porcelain skin, and delicate facial features. You might not recognize the 18-year-old Mackenzie Foy if you saw her on screen again.
Mackenzie was born in Los Angeles on Nov. 10, 2000, and her family has no connections to the film industry. Her father works as a truck driver, whilst her mom is a homemaker.
Mackenzie started modeling in 2004 when she was featured in print advertisements for Garnet Hill, Polo Ralph Lauren, and Guess Kids. Since then, she had modeled for companies such as The Walt Disney Company, Mattel, Gap, and Target Corporation.
She got into acting at age 9, appearing as guest television roles on FlashFoward, ‘Til Death, and Hawaii Five-O.
In 2011, Mackenzie made her big-screen debut as Renesmee Cullen in the film The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1, and eventually in 2012.
“Being on
Twilight, that was my first film. So everything I learned on that set, I was learning for the first time,” Mackenzie said, in an interview with
ET. "That was a film that I really knew, and understood what a film is and how it worked. So anything that I did in that process really prepared me for the rest of my career.”
The actress, who received a Young Artist Award nomination for her role as Renesmee, went on to take up acting roles in horror-fantasy television series R. L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour (2012), horror film The Conjuring (2013), theatrical family film Wish You Well (2013), and science-fiction film Interstellar (2014).
Mackenzie won a “Best Performance by a Younger Actor” Saturn Award, and numerous other awards nominations, for her role as young Murph Cooper in Interstellar, in which she acted alongside Matthew McConaughey.
Mackenzie was also the voice behind Celestine in the English version of the animated comedy-drama film Ernest & Celestine (2012), Violet in the 3D computer-animated family adventure film The Boxcar Children (2014), and The Little Girl in the animation feature The Little Prince (2015).
Recently, the teenager played the lead role of Princess Clara in the fantasy adventure film The Nutcracker and The Four Realms (2018).
“Clara is a smart, quick-thinking, ready-for-anything kind of girl. She’s very complex, which I love. And she’s British, which is one of my favorite things, because it meant I got to do an accent!” she told
Seventeen.
When she is not acting or studying, Mackenzie spends her free time painting, playing with her dog, snapping selfies, and practicing Taekwondo!
“My right thigh is way bigger than my left. I always thought that was kind of weird. But then I realized that my right leg is my power leg in taekwondo. So this kind of weird part of me is actually really cool, because it’s the leg I can kick really hard with,” Mackenzie, who has a black belt in taekwondo, said.
The star is currently focusing on her studies and is set to graduate from high school in
spring. Judging by her refreshing look, you’re sure to see more of Mackenzie Foy in the future.
“Given the chance to, I would like to act, produce and direct. And I also like cinematography,” she told Marie Claire Malaysia, as per
Dailymail.
Look at the grown-up Mackenzie Foy now; she is truly a classic beauty in the making. We can’t take our eyes off her!
