OXFORD, UK—One can expect that, as a retired pilot captain of the Royal Air Force and the former pilot of F1 superstar Ayrton Senna, Owen O’Mahony has seen a lot of incredible things. Yet there are always new things to see and experience, and Captain O’Mahony did just that when he watched Shen Yun Performing Arts in the New Theatre on Jan. 15.
“It was absolutely fabulous,” said Captain O’Mahony. “It’s so artistic, it’s colorful, it’s vibrant, superb. I’ve never seen anything like it.”
“Sadly, it’s frightening, what I’m seeing in China,” Captain O’Mahony said, referring to the Chinese Communist Party’s oppression.
China was once known as the “Land of the Divine,” and its culture was founded on the spiritual teachings of Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism. This was all abolished by the atheist communist government.
Captain O’Mahony attended Shen Yun with his wife, who also enjoyed the performance and described it as “wonderful, very colorful, [and] very thoughtful.”
